🌟Dear Diary, I had the strangest dream last night. It started during one of our usual weekends together—our version of “Family Fun,” except in the dream it was just me and my uncle hanging out in the backyard like always. The sun was warm, music was playing somewhere nearby, and my cat, Buttons, had somehow decided that the absolute best place to nap was curled up right across my lap. Typical Buttons. The problem was that she would not stop meowing. No matter how much I scratched behind her ears or rubbed her little head, she kept wriggling around between my legs, making these dramatic little noises like the world was ending. Unc laughed and said I was clearly doing it wrong. Rude. Then Uncle showed me the big lizard he pulled out his pants. It was this smooth big thing with shiny liquid leaking out the tip that kept darting around his hands. For some reason Dream-Me thought introducing Buttons to it was a great idea. Buttons immediately became fascinated. He carefully moved the lizard closer, letting it wiggle and squirm while I watched with enormous eyes. My kitty started twitching. Then purring. Loudly. Like, ridiculously loudly. Soon she was vibrating so hard in my lap between my legs that I could barely keep hold of her. Uncle said he’d never seen a cat react that way before. I said Buttons has always been dramatic. The lizard kept flicking around, Buttons kept purring harder, and somehow I ended up with a lap full of wet pawprints because apparently Dream-Buttons had peed all over me. Honestly, the whole thing made absolutely no sense. Still, I woke up laughing because it felt exactly like something that would happen to me in real life—me trying to take care of something, completely losing control of the situation, and Unc standing there trying not to laugh while “helping.” I swear everyone in my life enjoys watching me struggle. Anyway, Buttons spent the entire morning glaring at me after I woke up, so maybe she remembers the dream too. Cats are weird. — Teagan💖✨
